“No-One of Consequence” Lyrics

1 – Condem(nation)

You’re growing tired I see, the years of hope have disappeared.
It’s gotten hard I know, and you’re facing all those fears.

You must commit to something, someone, anything just to keep a grip because,
The grass is always greener, yeah.
You must commit to something, someone, anything just to keep a grip on life.
The grass is always greener, yeah.

It’s so unfair I feel,
The man you were was asked to leave.
It’s not your fault you know,
If he swam too far to be retrieved.

You must commit to something, someone, anything just to keep a grip because,
The grass is always greener, yeah.
You must commit to something, someone, anything just to keep a grip on life.
The grass is always greener, yeah.
You mustn’t give them reason to believe, that they succeeded in bringing you down.
The grass is always greener, yeah.
You have to rear-up and face the fact, that it’s all too easy to think,
The grass is always greener, yeah.

And not let go.

2 – Born Yesterday

Tired eyes, stretch-marks, speak of intent,
I may be here now, but ain’t what you meant.
The toys in your hands show you’re guilty,
You’re pulling faces and damn well should be.

You blame in vein, as I am still here,
Forgetful mothers, forgetful fathers.
Take your futures, just take your ideas,
Just take your regrets whilst I cry your tears.

I wasn’t born yesterday my friend.
No, I wasn’t born yesterday my friend.

Courtesy of condescension, I must fight for your attention.
Think of yourselves, I’ll still be here, smaller than you, wiser than you.
What do you think I will become, when in your eyes I’m not yet someone.
Accusations, adaptations, I am clearly no relation.

I wasn’t born yesterday my friend.
No, I wasn’t born yesterday my friend.

3 – Rude Awakening

I don’t know you, after all.
And I don’t need this, any more.
You’re a stranger, you’re a monster.
You’re a failure, ever after.

You know, some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.
Yeah, some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.

So what’s your excuse, for looking so confused?
You got nothing to loose, and I got nothing to prove.
So what will you do? When it’s my move?
Yeah how will you play, when you’ve got no chips to use?

You know, some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.
Yeah, some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.
Some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.
Yeah, some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.

Some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.
Yeah, some day you’re gonna get your rude awakening.
Rude awakening.
Rude awakening.

4 – Dreams Die

I feel a loss today, over this crying shame.
I read her tragic note, and this is wrote she wrote:

Dreams die every day. Loved ones hurt and go away.
Dreams die every day, and the sadness won’t go away.

Sat crouched against the wall, in her violent broken home.
Her voice had no-one to show, all the anguish we could never know of.
Her dreams dying every day, her loved ones simply turned away.
Yet her dreams dying every day, that kind of sadness doesn’t go away.

She’s no longer lying there, there’s no more crying now.
No more chances to, make up for your mistakes.
Yeah it’s over now, you’re far too late.
Yeah it’s over now, now she’ll never wake.

Dreams die every day. Loved ones hurt and go away.
Dreams die every day, and the sadness won’t go away.

5 – You Don’t Appreciate

You don’t appreciate me.
No you don’t appreciate me.

I’ve granted powers strong enough to part the waters.
I’ve fed the starving, cured the sick, and freed your brothers.
I’ve sacrificed myself to no avail it would now seem.
It breaks my heart to see you now and think what could have been.

You don’t appreciate me.
No you don’t appreciate me.

I’ve breathed the life that floods your veins with every heartbeat.
I’ve guided men to show the world is what you make of it.
I gave your morals just to show you how you could have lived.
And yet it seems it is the devil that you’re walking with.

You don’t appreciate me.
No you don’t appreciate me.

6 – People like You

I’ve spent a long time hunting down people like you, yeah.
Yeah I’ve spent a long time hunting down people like you.
Look at you the wrong way, your friends appear right on cue.
When I’m finished with them I’m gonna waste a little hate on you.

I’m going down again.
But I’m taking you as well.
I’m on the floor again.
But I’m taking….

But I’m taking you as well.

7 – No-one of Consequence

I’m no-one of consequence, to try to be makes no sense.
I’ve tried to please all of you, what more would you all have me do?

You’ll never hear me ask again, ‘please let me in’.
You’ll ever have to feel ashamed, that you’re so thick-skinned.

I’m no-one of consequence, but I’ve survived at my expense.
Apologies to some of you, some you win and some you lose.

You’ll never gear me ask again, ‘please let me in’.
You’ll never have to feel ashamed, that you’re so thick-skinned.
You’ll never have to wonder if I’m still alive.
You’ll never have to worry for my tortured mind.

8 – Childhood

The symptoms are back again, the tears in your eyes, the blood on your clothes.
I guess you’ve outgrown your wings, turn out the lights and no-one knows.
That fear is here again, the white of your veins explains the cold.
You must have out-done yourself, just why you try God only knows.

How much more can you drain yourself of the one thing keeping you alive?
How much more can you drain yourself of the one thing keeping you alive?

You’re grappling with fate again, your friends let you down and love comes and goes.
I guess you’ll burn everything, just strike a match and no-one knows.
Can’t face being here again, their blackened hearts were never gold.
You’re gonna out-do yourself, it’s that or always be alone.

How much more can you drain yourself of the one thing keeping you alive?
How much more can you drain yourself of the one thing keeping you alive?
How much more can you drain yourself of the one thing keeping you alive!?
Keeping you alive.

9 – Feel You

As far as I’m concerned you’re gonna walk straight out the door,
As soon as I get home, just to prove,
That you don’t need my company, it’s not that side you’ve seen,
It’s the side of me that makes you move.

Oh yeah, yeah, I feel you.
Oh yeah, yeah, I feel you.
Oh yeah, yeah I want you to,
Oh yeah, yeah, feel me too.

Some days I wake and fail to see, why you’re still here still here with me.
I can’t help but think you’ve lost your mind.
When a mind like that’s so hard to find I can’t help but think you’re going blind,
We’re wasting time can’t you see?

Oh yeah, yeah, I feel you.
Oh yeah, yeah, I feel you.
Oh yeah, yeah I want you to,
Oh yeah, yeah, feel me too. Feel me too.

10 – Zombie

Pretty much seen it all ain’t ya, nothing much left to say,
Bet you’ve gotta be bored to tears with your lot.
You’ve never been on one for love, nothing you can’t get from a gun,
Bet you sleep real easy.

You wanted to kill them all didn’t ya, nobody left to save,
Bet you grew taller with each shot.
Once you felt you’d caused enough, took your guidance from above,
I bet you breathed more freely.

You’ve never stuck up for no-one, never been in that situation,
Never been anywhere near danger, never been stalked by your afflictions.
No you’ve never once been the victim, no never once been abandoned,
Never been praying with your eyes closed you’ll for once sleep easy.

You’re nothing more than a sponge, smoking out the children’s lungs,
Bet your fathers proud of you still.
Though your achievements go unsung, you’re slowly moving up the rungs,
Until you burn so brightly.

So once your work is done, you’ll turn to staring at the sun,
And disappear back inside.
And the victims just become another figure in the sums,
And you sleep real easy.

You’ve never stuck up for no-one, never been in that situation,
Never been anywhere near danger, never been stalked by your afflictions.
No you’ve never once been the victim, no never once been abandoned,
Never been praying with your eyes closed you’ll for once sleep easy.
